It's free for the remainder of your 2008 subscription. Or you could get the free upgrade to Norton 2009 which would give you all the benefits of the improvements in it. So you could do as he says and make sure you have Norton 2008 fully updated and then reboot before applying the Service Pack 1. As far as the 2008 products were concerned, so long as you got all updates and rebooted before applying Windows service packs, there would be no issues. The XP SP3 and Vista SP1 upgrades were never an issue for the Norton 2009 products. OK On the Service Pack 1 situation I mentioned, Reese A wrote here:
